Disney's Animal Kingdom opened April 22, 1998 and is the newest of the four Walt Disney World theme parks. What makes Animal Kingdom a favorite is its focus on animal conservation of 250 species within 500 acres, its African Safaris, its adventures to the prehistoric age and worlds beyond. The Tree of Life is truly a work of art in the best Disney tradition. At 145 ft, this 14 story artificial tree has the images of more than 300 animals hand-carved into its trunk. Imaginers made sure that this amazing park was not a viewed as a ”Zoo” but a masterpiece of nature.
